Justin E. Mealy
Managing Director

Justin E. Mealy is Managing Director of Geneva Trading in Dublin. He is responsible for risk and operations at the firm. His worldwide expertise in trading and technology help make Geneva one of the most cutting-edge proprietary trading firms in the world.

Prior to joining Geneva in 2005, Justin worked at UBS Investment Bank from November 2003 to May 2005 in Tokyo, where he served as the Asia Pacific regional analyst and designer of business processes and technologies. Mr. Mealy managed front-to-back transaction processes, pricing methodologies as well as screen trading tools and analytics for front- and middle-offices in fixed income securities across the region.

Prior to that, Mr. Mealy served as Chief Operating Officer and General Manager of International Financial Systems in Singapore. There he oversaw a 35-person staff in several locations in Asia. International Financial Systems developed the industry standard collateralized FX & derivatives risk application called “MarginMan”, the leading dealing platform for leveraged FX dealing banks worldwide. Mr. Mealy also managed regional product development, sales, marketing, client support and administrative departments.

From 1998 to 2000, Mr. Mealy worked for the proprietary trading division of Coronation Global in Dublin, the first offshore operation of Coronation Holdings of South Africa. Specialized in trading equities, fixed income, listed derivatives and credit, Mr. Mealy managed his own trading book and also provided treasury management and advisory execution services for a number of internal trading groups.

Mr. Mealy broke into the financial markets with Landesbank Hessen-Thueringen,“Helaba” in Dublin in June 1997 until October 1998, where he was responsible for structuring, swap pricing, commercial paper dealing, money-market execution, interest rate derivatives trading and daily hedging of FX and duration exposures.

Mr. Mealy earned his Bachelor of Business & Law (Honors Degree) in 1997 from University College Dublin, a four-year programme combining Commerce and Law, specializing in international finance, transactions and banking. He also attended the Executive Training Programme Japan 2002, an intensive Japanese Industry and Language full immersion scholarship programme based in Tokyo, managed by the European Union.
