CME Steps Up Europe Presence
Irish Independent, April 2, 2004
The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), which offers
a variety of financial instruments including futures and derivatives,
has added a new telecommunications hub in Dubline to its network.
The exchange is trying to step up its presence in
Europe which it sees as a major growth area.
Its products are traded by pension funds, investment
advisors, corporate treasurers and investment banks.
CME chairman Terry Duffy and chief executive Craig
Donohue marked the opening of the new hub in Dublin with Finance
Minister Charlie McCreevy and Mary
McDonnell, chief executive of Geneva Trading, which is a major
customer of the exchange.
Geneva Trading, on City Quay in Dubline, was founded
in Ireland in 1999.
