Dublin Hub for US Futures Exchange

The largest futures exchange in the US opened a new
telecoms hub in Dublin yesterday.
Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), one of the biggest
currency futures and derivatives trading exchanges in the world,
opened yesterday announced that it was opening four European telecoms
hubs: Dubline, Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Gibraltar.
CME's chairman, Mr. Terence Duffy, and chief executive,
Mr. Craig Donohoe, both attended the launch of the market's Dublin
hub at the offices of Geneva Trading, one of CME's clients, yesterday.
The Minister for Finance, Mr. McCreevy, formally launched
the hub,which will serve its Dublin based clients by giving them
direct access to its electronic trading platform.
According to Mr. Duffy, last year, over 600 contracts
with an underlying value of $337 trillion (€273 million) changed
hands on CME.
